Posen rolls in football opener; Hillman loses at Onekama

FLINT-The Posen football team got a tough test right off the bat on Thursday, but the Vikings were able to persevere for a win.

Dylan Schuch had 243 yards on 20 carries for two touchdowns, Darren Dubie added 187 yards on 12 carries for two touchdowns and the Vikings won their season opener 52-32 over Flint Michigan School for the Deaf on the road.

Levi Romel added 130 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries for the Vikings (1-0), who led 26-18 at halftime and were able to pull away down the stretch. One of the key plays for Posen was a 65-yard touchdown run by Dubie in the third quarter that saw him shake off several defenders on the way to paydirt.

Defensively, Brady Chojnacki led Posen with 10 solo tackles and added five assists. Dubie had nine solo tackles and Schuch had two interceptions.
