Mens Softball

Miller/Eagles swept an Alpena Men’s Softball League regular season finale against Sportspage/Bedrock. Miller/Eagles was victorious in game one, winning by a score of 13-9.

Tim Alexander led the way for Miller/Eagles with three hits, two of which were home runs. Craig Knechtel, Jason Barbeau, Matt Suszek and Kyle Hanson all added three hits apiece. Matt Ponik chipped in with two hits including a home run and Jeremy Stepaniak added two hits in the win.

Sportspage/Bedrock was led by Josh VanDusen, Ashley Hamp and Travis Hilla who each collected tow hits. VanDusen added a home run in the loss.

Miller/Eagles wrapped up the number one seed in the playoffs by winning the nightcap by a score of 8-7.

Craig Stepaniak came through with the big hit in the top of the seventh inning, delivering the go-ahead two-run home run to give Miller/Eagles the lead and one they would eventually hold onto. Ponik added two hits and a home run in the winning effort.

Sportspage/Bedrock was led by Andy Lamp who had two hits including a home run.
