ALPENA – The Alpena JV baseball team split a doublehead against conference rival Petoskey on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats were victorious in game one, winning by a score of 12-7. Chris Durocher started the game tossing six innings and striking out five to get the win. Bruz Copping came on to pitch one inning of relief to pick up the save.

At the plate, Aidan Goike and Logan Guthrie both went 3-4 and had a double. Durocher went a perfect 2-2 in the game as well.

In an unfortunate ending, Alpena dropped game two by a score of 6-5 after the game was called due to darkness after five innings.

Guthrie, Goike and Cody Summerix all saw action on the mound in the game. Offensively, Kyle VanDusen went 2-2 and Isaac Matzke had a double in the game.
