Hillman boys basketball remains undefeated

The Hillman varsity boys basketball team improved to 5-0 overall on the season after defeating Whittemore-Prescott on the road 65-19 on Monday.

Hillman got off to a hot start by hitting four of their first 10 three pointers in the first quarter and never looked back as it opened up an early 20-4 lead.

The Tigers used a balanced scoring attack led by senior Aedan Tucker had a strong game with 15 points, while adding seven assists, six steals, and five rebounds.

Junior center Eddie Prue also filled the stat sheet by scoring 15 points, pulling down seven rebounds, and adding six steals.

Guard Ty Muszynski would round out the Hillman players who scored in double digits by scoring 13 points.

The Tigers return to action on Thursday at home against the Posen Vikings.

Hillman coach Eric Muszynski said so far this season, the team’s ability to score and defend has led to its hot start and everyone who has earned minutes has contributed in one way or another.

“I thought tonight was another display of our balanced attack. We currently have four players averaging double figures and that’s always been what we strive for in our program,” he said. ” On any given night we have someone stepping up scoring or giving good minutes.”

The loss by Whittemore-Prescott dropped its record down to 3-1 and it will return to action against Au Gres-Sims at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at home.
