Hillman Tigers varsity boys basketball team secure victory

HILLlMAN — Hillman varsity boys basketball team secured a victory over Tawas Area High School on Thursday, ending the game with a score of 49-40.

Tawas ended the first quarter leading with a 19-3 score, according to Hillman Tigers varsity boys basketball Head Coach Eric Muszynski. Hillman bounced back in the second quarter, leading the rest of the game and holding Tawas to one point in the fourth quarter.

Muszynski said that Junior Center Eddie Prue paced Hillman with 16 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Senior Aedan Tucker added 15 points and Senior Forward Evan Crane added another double-double to his season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Tawas was led by Reuben Edwards with 15 points and Aiden Smith added nine points.

“We absolutely came out with no intensity and that’s on me as coach!” Muszynski said in an email. “Our shot selection was poor early on but after the first quarter we locked in. Holding them to one point in the fourth quarter was pretty impressive but we want to play 32 minutes.”

According to Muszynski, Hillman improved with their win to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the NSL. Hillman returns on Monday traveling to Whittemore Prescott.
