Randy Herbek, Richard Brown Trailblazer Award

This year The Richard Brown Trailblazer Award in memory of Richard who passed away at the age of 102 was given to longtime Hillman maintenance and grounds supervisor Randy Herbek. He oversaw the athletic facilities at Hillman High School from the beginning of the facilities being built until his retirement in 2021. Hillman’s athletic facilities are still known as one of the better facilities in the area to this day and Herbek was a big part of blazing that trail. The Richard Brown Trailblazer Award honors athletes/individuals from a distant generation that helped blaze the trail for our past and present athletes at Hillman High School.
