Alpena girls swim team dominates Oscoda

The Alpena Wildcat Girls Swim Team defeated the Oscoda 118-54 in Oscoda on Thursday.

It was the first time the girls team scored over 100 points since 2023.

The top Wildcat scorers were team captains Elizabeth Rabbideau who placed first in the 200-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle and Tryst Bukowiecki who finished first in the 100-yard butterfly and 100- yard backstroke.

Both Rabbideau and Bukowiecki also earned first places in the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay races.

Penelope Conboy earned a first place in the 200-yard Individual Medley and also second place in the 100-yard breastroke, while Brynn Beatty took first in the 100 -yard freestyle and second place in the 200-yard Individual Medley.

Gabby Tolan swam a personal record and took third place in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breastroke.

Haley Stenz earned a second-place in the 100-yard freestyle and third place in the 50-yard freestyle.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Madelyn Farley and Arabella Nunez both finished with personal bests.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Bailee Diemond finished fourth and also had a personal best.

Jacquelyn Frantz took first and had a personal record in the 100-yard breastroke.

The next swim meet will be home on Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Ogemaw Heights.
