38 teams compete in MATRIX Madness 3-on-3 basketball tournament

LINCOLN — Thirty-eight teams from Alpena, Alcona, Bath, Boyne City, Tawas, Oscoda, Au Gres, Grayling, Hillman, and Rogers City participated in the MATRIX Madness 3-on-3 basketball tournament held March 9 at Alcona High School.

Winners on the girls’ side include: The Lost Lakers III (4th and 5th grade) — Ruby Joyce, Wilma Essex, and Macy Somers; Warriors (6th) — Claire Schultz, Eleanor Stevens, Sophia Kowalski, and Ainsley Nowak; Flamin’ Hot Cheetos (7th and 8th) — Zoey Bernhardt, Cora Belford, Addy Stanek, and Bella Jewett.

On the boys’ side, winners include: Young Owls (3rd and 4th) — Paxson Nathaniel, Myles McCausey, Quiad Travis, and Luke Alda; Eastside Bombers (6th) — Evan Franklin, Max Michaud, Jaxson Prouty, and Maliki Hayes; Tawas (7th) — Scotty Parish, Jeffery Roulo, Jacob Kaderle, and Lars Manne; Skibidi Sigmas (8th) — Bryan McKinstry, Eli Banttari, and Aiden Kowalski; Purple Cobras (9th) — Eddie Prue, Eli Smith, Kadyn Vanderveer, and Ty Muszynski; Goblin Barrel (10th-12th) – Dillion Teed, Leo Malone, Hunter Romancky, Ryan Romancky, and Ryan Patterson.
