Dear editor: Enough already! In response to the two letters in The Alpena News on Jan. 18, 2025, the truth must be told. How long is the left going to manufacture scare tactics regarding Donald Trump and his term as president of the United States? The fantasizing and false narratives need to end! Countries ruled by dictators don’t fare well

President Donald J. Trump has accomplished the impossible. Still in power after more than eight years, since Jan. 20, 2017. Proving that he never really lost the 2020 election, as he has just been inaugurated into a third term of presidential power. This creates an authoritarian leader that stands above the law and the Constitution of the United States. Doesn’t it all send shivers down your spine?

Open the playbooks from 1938 by you know who. Move in and free the people as they need our guidance, and we need to have their land. If need be, do it by military force and blame the other person while taking the Panama Canal that we built many decades ago. As two new members prepare to attend their first meeting of the Board of Education of Alpena Public Schools on Monday, they are reminded that the principal responsibility of the district is to prepare students for their future, no matter where they live and regardless of what they do after they leave Alpena High School — join the workforce or the military, begin an internship, or enroll in a trade school, college or university.
