On fluoride, PFAS and COVID in our water

It would be nice and easy to ignore fluorine and fluoride products in the Alpena drinking water. But this substance may be setting you up for COVID-19.

An article in Int. J. Environ Res Public Health from March 2021 entitled “Exposure to Perfluoroalkyl Substances and Mortality for COVID-19”. In conclusion, we observed a higher mortality risk for COVID-19 in a population exposed to PFAS, which was possibly explained by PFAS immunosuppression, bioaccumulation in lung tissue, or pre-existing disease being related to PFAS.

And another article entitled “Severity of COVID-19 at elevated exposure to perfluorinated alkylates” from PLoS One, 2020 Dec 31. Conclusions: Measures of individual exposures to immunotoxin PFASs included short-chain PFBA (Perfluorobutyrate) known to accumulate in the lungs. Elevated plasma-PFBA concentrations were associated with an increased risk of a more severe course of COVID-19.

Given the low background exposure levels in this study, the role of exposure to PFAS in COVID-19 needs to be ascertained in populations with elevated exposures.

What good are fluoridated teeth from the drinking water if you get cremated from COVID-19?
