As for the animals on display locally, hung along a pole (to bleed out, someone said):
It’s OK. I’m sure each hunter, when his or her animal’s eyes glazed over in death, bent down to whisper in its ear: “Thank you, brother deer, for giving your life so I can feed my family.”
