INSTALLING PARKING METERS IN ALPENA?

Have the administrators thought about the COSTS?

1.) The COST of the meters

2.) the COST OF installing them: sealing them to a secure base, ripping up the sidewalks in the process, securing cement replacement

3.) The COST of collecting the money from the units, and in the winter months likewise with the adverse weather

4.) The repair of a unit when a unit is not working in a required manner. This would require a person or persons to monitor the system, if there is a problem, and then repairing/replacing it, with MORE labor.

The labor cost, repair cost, replacement cost, miscellaneous cost, ADDS to the total, which we do not have knowledge of.

Our costs IF we could break even, do not justify the time, labor, and worry of a guess venture. We had meters in the past, and they were removed because the cost exceeded the revenue expected, and the problems exceeded our workforce.

IS THIS COST-EFFECTIVE?
