I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Alpena’s health care providers during the passing of my beloved Ernest G. Borg. He received wonderful care at MidMichigan Medical Center’s emergency room as well as by the medical staff during his hospital admission. Following a definitive diagnosis, made at the University of Michigan, extended care was necessary and Ernie spent his final days at Turning Brook Assisted Living Community. Barb Werle, Turning Brook administrator, expertly coordinated the difficult care required by Ernie’s terminal condition, providing a warmth and compassion to our family that was beyond measure and expectations. The staff of Hospice of Michigan-Alpena was excellent during his final days. I cannot imagine going through this without the professional, caring and talented healthcare workers within the Alpena community.

A note of gratitude is also extended to Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home. Alex Hunter and Amber Brenner ensured that every detail was planned for to honor the memory of Ernest.

Lastly, I am extremely grateful for all our family and friends who have shared the joys of knowing Ernie, and the sorrow of his passing.
