Ways to fix roads other than tax hikes
We have been reading about all the proposals to fix the roads and how the gas tax has to raised. Here is a novel idea: All taxes collected at the pump, as well as all license fees, go to fix the roads. No diversion to mass transit or anything else. It all goes to fix the roads.
Even the present proposal diverts approximately 40 percent to other things.
While we are on the subject, we should reduce the weight limits on our roads so they don’t get destroyed by trucks that can’t cross the state line because of weight limits.
