Young snow-shovelers made my day

Last week, when Alpena was hit with two days of steady snow, I ventured out to begin the process of driveway snow removal. As I began the tedious task of removal, two snowmobiles, with three young men on board passed by.

Within minutes, they returned and parked on the road in front of my house. They each had snow shovels. They approached me and insisted that I take a break. They then began to vigorously shovel the snow and within 15 minutes the entire drive was clear.

I tried to pay them, but they refused to take any money. They gave me smiles, high fives and departed to resume their fun activities, leaving behind a very clean driveway.

Trevor Zolnierek, Ben Poli and Ethan Thatcher helped start my day off on a good note.
