We’ve all heard the expression “I had a Monday.” Well, Monday, Nov. 26 was a Monday I’ll never forget. It all began around 8:30 a.m., when I had received a call that my sister in-law of 25 years had lost her fight with cancer. She was 56.

Family needs family in a time of grief, so I left work to be with my mother. It was decided that I would spend most of the day with my mother, run some errands, take her to her scheduled doctor’s appointment. Well, here is where my Monday became the Monday I will never forget. While at her doctor’s appointment, her family doctor instructed me to take my mother to the emergency room and that they are expecting us.

On arrival to the ER at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena, I found a team of medical professionals waiting for us. Extremely impressive! I was bedside the whole time; I saw how professional and compassionate this ER TEAM is during trauma.

Nothing changed as we made are way to Two South later that evening. What a great group of folks you are. Your sympathy card, Two South, was a class act! No one wants to spend any time in the hospital, but it was very clear to me Two South was the right place to mend a broken heart.
