LATZ, Thomas Michael, 80 of Rogers City, died at home on Jan. 9, 2023. Tom is survived by his wife, Jan; two sons, Mike (Jenny) Sobeck of Gaylord and Russell Sobeck of Rogers City; four grandchildren, Ally (Luis), Taylor (Ian Travis), Adam (Isabella Rebolho) and Kylah; one great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Barb Latz of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at Peace Lutheran Church on Friday, Jan. 13 from 10 a.m. through the time of his memorial service at 11 a.m. with Pastor J. Derek Riddle officiating. LaTULIP, Loretta, 91, died on Jan. 2, 2023. Surviving are her three brothers, Donald, Leonard (Barbara), Thomas (Penny); and several nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation will take place Friday, February 10, 2023, at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michigan Lingaur officiating. Military honors to follow by Alpena VFW Post 2496. Arrangements have been made by the Bannan Funeral Home.

WIESCHOWSKI, Glenda, 77, of Alpena, died on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at her home. She is survived by her husband, David, daughter, Tonia (Don) Kunze, son David (Chrissy), and beloved dog, Cleo. Beverly Jean Kihn Attwell, age 91 years young, of Alpena Turning Brook Retirement Community went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 7, 2023, with her daughters at her side. Beverly was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher and friend. Beverly Jean Hayes was born on March 4, 1931, to the late Grady A. and Margaret (Mills) Hayes at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Marion M. Gedeon, 75, of Alpena passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, surrounded by family at her home on Long Lake. Marion May Alexander was born on Jan. 24, 1947, to the late Carl and Florence (Kline) Alexander. Marion enjoyed her life on the lake with her husband Jeff, the love of her life of 55 years. She loved having coffee on the deck, watching the ducks, fishing and boating. Every year she harvested the garden and was known for making the best zucchini bread and jams in the world. EUGENE KORTE

Eugene Sylvester Korte, 95, of Alpena passed away Jan. 4, 2022. He was born on April 4, 1927 in Leola, South Dakota. Eugene served in the U.S. Navy for three years before meeting Audrey Dalbec whom he would marry on Sept. 18, 1948 in Walmatosa, Wisconsin. The two of them then moved to Port Huron, Michigan. Eugene went to work at the Port Huron Sulphite and Paper Co. for four years before landing at Grand Trunk Railroad where he would retire in 1988 after 36 years.
