LOIS ANN URBANCE

Lois Ann Urbance, 44, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a kind, caring, and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend whom will be dearly missed. Lois was born on Sept. 24, 1978 to Arthur Spencer and Leigh Urbance in Alpena. There were many things that Lois enjoyed doing, such as growing and caring for plants, taking long walks through the wooded trails, going to concerts, and being a medical transporter where she took people all over the state to go to medical appointments. Stephen L. Crane

CRANE, Stephen L., age 72, of Presque Isle died at MediLodge of Rogers City on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Stephen is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Misti (Don Cotter), Ohio, Zachary, J. Richards of Alpena and William; two grandchildren, Kyan and Jami; twin brother, Geoff; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be announced when the date is set this summer. Kenneth Earl Friedrich

FRIEDRICH, Kenneth Earl, 94, of Presque Isle, died unexpectedly at home surrounded by his loved ones on April 27, 2023. Memorial visitation will take place Friday, May 12, 2023, at Bannan Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 12 p.m. with military honors by Alpena VFW Post 2496.

Dolphine Piper

PIPER, Dolphine, 92, of Alpena, died on Friday, April 28, 2023 at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. She is survived by her husband James Piper, daughter Elizabeth Piper, and a sister, Doris Greskowiak. Family will receive friends for visitation at Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1 p.m. until the prayer of the rosary at 2 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy as celebrant. RALPH M. BOBOLTZ

Midland — Ralph M. Boboltz, 90, of Midland passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 22, 2023. He was born to the late Fred and Helen (Becker) Boboltz on April 10, 1933. He married Ruth Kautz on June 5, 1954 and they were blessed with 66 years together before she predeceased him on March 5, 2021. Ralph served in the Michigan National Guard. He was a Sergeant and rifle expert, specifically, large caliber. He was also an accomplished piano player, avid sportsman, wood worker and chef.
