Born and raised in Alcona County, Bill moved on after high school but then eventually returned home in 1975 and bought the Hastings Centennial Family Farm, where he grew up. Leslie “Les” Thomas Sr. of Spruce passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. Les was born July 27, 1944 in Portland, Maine to John Carl and Louella (Ward) Thomas. The oldest of six brothers and sisters, Les grew up in Redford, Michigan, where he graduated from Thurston High School in 1963. He was a three-sport athlete in high school, lettering in wrestling, swimming and football. Curtis E. Reynolds, 78, of Alpena, passed away at home May 8, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born July 30, 1944 in Alpena to the late Curtis and Norma (Diem) Reynolds. He married Genevieve Filipiak April 8, 1967 and they enjoyed 54 years of love together. She preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2021. Curt was proud to be a Vietnam Naval Veteran, having served aboard the USS Currituck. Gerald Walter Vredenburg, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 8, 2023, at his home. Gerald was born July 10, 1935, to the late Walter and Thaida (Wilds) Vredenburg of Ossineke. He married his wife Shirley Truman Vredenburg on Sept. 5, 1959. Gerald was a lifelong member of the Ossineke Methodist Church. Gerald served in the US Army and completed his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Family will receive friends for visitation at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 11 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. with Fr.
