Karen Sue Swafford

Karen Sue Schultz was born September 21, 1944, in Detroit, to the late William and Amilia (Rakow) Schultz. Karen married Joseph Andrew Swafford, Jr., on January 5, 1961. She is a 4th generation member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Hubbard Lake.

Karen is survived by her husband Joe, Jr.; 3 children, Christine Carol (James) Gold, Jimmy Adam Swafford, Michael Anthony (Shauna) Swafford, 11 grandchildren, JoAnna Lynn, Joseph Andrew IV, Savanna Elesabeth, Michael Anthony Jr., Hannah Marie, Anthony Michael, William Michael, David Michael, Andrew Michael, Mia Michelle, Colton Michael; 4 great-grandchildren, Gisselle Lynn, Liam Andres, Annabell Rose, Aiden Joseph; sister-in-law, Sandra Schultz.

Karen was preceded in death by her son Joseph (Leslee) Swafford, III; 2 brothers, Ronald Schultz and William Schultz.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Hubbard Lake, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Llewellyn officiating.
