IRENE M. WCISEL
Feb. 2, 1931 – May 22, 2024
Irene M. Wcisel passed away on May 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born on Feb. 2, 1931, to the late Andrew and Cecilia (Raniszewski) Skowron in Posen.
On May 22, 1954, she married the love of her life Ernest Wcisel at St. Casimir Catholic Church with Fr. Kozak officiating. Ernest preceded her in death on March 21, 2013. They joined hands once again on the day that would have been their 70th anniversary.
Irene was a member of All Saints Parish as well as Daughters of Isabella. She was retired from Werth Laundry and Cleaners. Irene loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. She also loved her camping trips to Canada with her family and many great friends. She loved watching the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings games, but her biggest passion was spending time out west in Arizona and Laughlin, Nev., with her children and grandchildren. One of her greatest loves was taking care of her beautiful flower garden, her home, and her family.
Irene is survived by her four children, Jeanette (Anthony) Jackson of Arizona, Carol (Robert) Suszek, David (Linda) Wcisel both of Alpena, and Robert (Mary) Wcisel of Arizona, nine grandchildren, Craig, Jason, Ashley, Stephanie, and Leeann of Arizona, Angela, Nicholas, and Jamie of Michigan, and Michelle of Colorado, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Helen Kolakowski, Julia Kapala, Virginia Iovaldi, and Dolores Skowron, and three brothers, Edward, Joseph, and Leo Skowron.
Family will receive friends for visitation at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tyler Bischoff as celebrant. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, All Saints Parish, or Hospice of Michigan. A.E.
