GERALD TIMM

Gerald Timm, 81, of Union City, Mich., passed away on Dec. 20, 2023. Gerald, known to most as Jere, was born to Erich and Hilma Timm on Dec. 13, 1942, in Hubbard Lake, Mich. He was a loving son who helped on the farm, played football in high school and college, and went on to serve in the Marine Corps. Upon returning home from the Marine Corps, he started a couple of small businesses and ultimately spent most of his working life as a merchant marine for Inland Lakes Management. Later in lif, he retired to Union City. Jere is survived by his daughter Erica, grandson Cypress, two siblings and several nieces and nephews. Jere was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Jere could always tell a good story or joke and truly enjoyed connecting with friends and family. He wishes to be remembered as the good dad, friend, and Marine that he was. There will be an informal celebration of life this summer in Alpena to share favorite Jere memories and reminisce over photos of him through the years.
