DAVID G. LANG

David G. Lang, 83, of Hubbard Lake died at home on Sunday, June 26, 2022.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1939, to the late George and Leola (Dunlap) Lang in Flint, Michigan. On Sept. 5, 1959, he married Lydia Hoeberling at Salem Lutheran Church of Wolf Creek. Lydia was the love of his life and his forever soulmate. They were married for 62 years.

David was a lifelong resident of Hubbard Lake. He enjoyed many things in life including hunting, camping, golf, gardening, and most of all spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed a lifelong career with Abitibi Corp of Alpena for 41 years, retiring in 2001. He was a “Jack of All Trades” doing much of his own home and car repairs. He always embraced new technology and in the early days repaired many TV’s and radios for neighbors and friends. He was an electrician and rewired many existing homes in the area with the help of his sons. His knowledge came from his training in the US Marine Corp as an aircraft electrician. David was proud of his service and earned an honorable discharge in 1958 with the rank of Corporal. He was a Christian and had a love and respect for Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia; sons, Rodney Lang, Daryl Lang, Jeffery (Amy) Lang; grandchildren Tiffany (Andrew) Tracey, Nicholas (Becky) Lang, Steve (girlfriend Ashley Laurance) Lang, Sarah (Jacob) Showerman; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Samuel, Micah, Kennedy, Jackson, Lydia, Keiden, Emelia, Jack, Lucy; brother, Robert (Marion) Lang; sister Pat (Ron Rosbeck) Cowden; brothers-in-law, James Sanford and Wilmer Timm.

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, JoEllen Lang; sisters, Eilene Sanford and Elaine (Coleman) Timm.

Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, July 1, at Hope Lutheran Church of Hubbard Lake from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Herb Kitzman officiating. Arrangements have been provided by Bannan Funeral Home.
