MARCIA JANE SCHUBERT
of Lawton
On May 21, 2022, after fighting her dementia, heart disease, diabetes, and leukemia for fifteen plus years, Marcia’s body gave out in her 84th year. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred E. Skinner, and Una May Skinner nee Jones, and her sister Mary Swindell. She leaves behind her husband of 53 years, John; her sons: John G. (Irina) and Brein E. (Jessica); and four grandchildren: Nickolaus, Emily, Alistair, and Amelia.
Marcia was born in Wisconsin, spent her high school years in St. Claire Shores, and went to Florida for 10 years working at a Savings and Loan. She then returned to Michigan where she married John and spent the remainder of her days living in New Baltimore, Alpena, and Lawton, Michigan.
She loved traveling and has visited all the lower 48 states, plus five trips to Europe, four with her husband. On two of the trips she met relatives from her father’s side in SW England and mother’s side in N. Wales. She took classes in photography at Alpena CC and had some published in their art magazine. She also enjoyed pottery, crafts, and quilting.
The only bright side of her death is that she won’t have to listen to her husband’s puns any more.
