HARRY ROLAND KINSEL

Harry Roland Kinsel, 96, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at his home. He was a loving and caring man that will be missed by many.

Harry was born on Sept. 29, 1925, to the late Frank and Evelyn (Hepburn) Kinsel in Alpena, Michigan. Growing up in northern Michigan Harry learned to love being outdoors and all it had to offer such as hunting, fishing, gardening, and just being outside. He enjoyed playing poker, playing dominos, going to the casino, going to and having pig roasts, and making roasters for others to enjoy. On March 7, 1949 Harry joined hands in marriage to the love of his life Janet May Kinsel in Alpena. The two raised their family and enjoyed life until she preceded him in death in 2014.

Harry is survived by his five children, Sherry (Dan Gross) Joslin, Elaine “JoJo” Decare, Diane Murphy, Sue (James) Ohlrich, and Lee (Ann) Kinsel, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren and special nephew Joseph Fleck.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Janet, all of his siblings, Ray Kinsel, Clarence Kinsel, Melba Fleck, Joan Wysocki, and Thelma Spigelmyre, two grandchildren, Robert Murphy II and Kevin Kinsel, three sons-in-law, Robert Murphy, Ervin Joslin, and Lonnie Decare.

Family will receive friends for visitation at McWilliams Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and continue Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 3 p.m. with the Rev.
