CHERYL KUS VOSS

Cheryl Kus Voss, age 70, of Capitola, California passed away Sept. 8, 2021 at her home after a two and a half year battle with ovarian cancer.

Born in Hamtramck Michigan she grew up in Alpena, graduating from Alpena Catholic Central and then Eastern Michigan University. In 1976 she moved to San Francisco. After enjoying careers as an elementary school teacher and software programmer, Cheryl moved to southern California in 1985 and found her passion as a make-up artist in the motion picture and television industries, a career that she so enjoyed until her retirement in 2005. It was on the set of a movie where Cheryl met her partner, Terry Haskell. They were married April 2, 1993 in Lake Tahoe Nevada. Cheryl was a talented artist, loved to dance, listen to music, and travel with Terry, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Cheryl’s parents, EJ and Millie Kus preceded her in death. Terry, sister Cindy, brothers Craig and Chuck (Diane), stepsons Nate and Matthew, niece Kristin and her countless friends were blessed to have known her and will miss the sincerity of Cheryl’s friendship, her sweet nature, kind heart and generous soul.

A gathering to celebrate Cheryl is being planned for a future date. Donations in honor of Cheryl may be made to the following organizations, both of which were very important to her.
