THOMAS TAMAYO BUSTILLOS

Thomas Tamayo Bustillos, 65, of Alpena passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena surrounded by his family.

Thomas was born on April 19, 1956, in Lansing, Michigan to the late Thomas and Gloria (Tamayo) Bustillos. He served in the United States Army. On August 28, 1982, he married Susan Kuchnicki. Thomas worked at Alpena Regional Medical Center, retiring in 2007 due to illness. He was a cheerleader while attending MSU and a ballroom dance instructor. Thomas was a member of V.F.W. and former president of local 204. He loved fishing, his motorcycle, music, playing his banjo and guitar and most of all he loved his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Susan, two children, Joshua (Kari) Bustillos, Alison (fiancee Chase Werth) Nunez, four grandchildren, Rush, Lexi, Abram, Coraline, sister, Irma Watson, and brother, Elizar Bustillos.

Mr. Bustillos was preceded in death by two siblings, Juan Bustillos and Sulema Castilla.

Visitation will take place Sunday at Bannan Funeral Home from 1-6 p.m. with military honors by Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496 at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue there Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brad Matuzak officiating.
