LARRY RICHARD TAYLOR

Larry Richard Taylor, 84, of Alpena passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland.

Larry was born April 26, 1937 in Milan, Michigan to the late Carl and Lydia (Gomer) Taylor. He married Ruthann Haselhuhn Jan. 28, 1961 at Immanuel Lutheran Church and they were blessed with 60 years together. Larry was very much a people person as he enjoyed a good conversation with anyone. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was fishing or hunting out at camp. He also enjoyed music which included singing solo at church, and spending time with family. Larry was a long-time member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Lockwood Camp #139 and an active member at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Larry is survived by his wife, Ruthann, three children, Tamyra (Adam) Pieczynski, Julie (Edwardo) Taylor-Bahling, Douglas (Pattiann) Taylor, three grandchildren, Cody (Annie) Edwards, Savannah Taylor, Joshua Taylor, and two great-grandchildren, Colton and Carter Edwards. He was preceded in death by both parents, and his brother Neil Taylor.

Family will receive friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Erickson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 351 Wilson St., Alpena, Michigan, 49707, or online at immanuelalpena.org.
