DELMAR L. PREVO

Delmar L. Prevo, age 88, of Lachine, Michigan passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at MediLodge-Hillman.

On Oct. 27, 1932, Delmar was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Leo and Anabelle (Allain) Prevo. Delmar was a farmer in the Herron, Michigan area his entire life raising cattle and producing cash crops. He married Elaine Belanger on May 4, 1957, at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Simon officiating. Delmar served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Alpena Moose Lodge, an Honorable Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Third and Fourth Degree and a former member of their Color Guard. He was also a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Delmar enjoyed bowling and hunting; where he was a member of the Robin Hood Camp for 54 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elaine, one son, Jordan (Maria) Prevo, of Herron, Michigan, four grandchildren, Daniel (Kim) Prevo, Renee (Andy) Lamp, Haley (Chris) Tilton, and Dakota Prevo, four great-grandchildren, Evan, Jensen, and Dylan Prevo and Brady Lamp, one brother, Darwin (Diane) Prevo of Montrose, Michigan, along with several nieces and nephews.

Delmar was preceded in death by one daughter Carol Prevo.

Arrangements are entrusted by the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather for Memorial Visitation at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Herron, Michigan on Monday, May 17, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating, followed by Full Military Honors Accorded by the VFW Post 2496.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan or the Veteran’s Association in memory of Delmar.
