MILDRED PEARL HARMON

Mildred Pearl Harmon, 76, of Alpena, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday Jan. 27, 2021. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed by many. She was born on Oct. 19, 1944 to the late Elwin and Evelyn (Shunk) Burnham in Alpena.

There were many hobbies that Mildred enjoyed such as going for walks, watching swans, playing cards (especially Gin Rummy), crossword puzzles, and word search. She was an avid collector and could often be found singing wherever she went. She loved food and dining out as well as a random trip to the casino. What brought Mildred the most joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her four children, Karl Harmon of Alpena, Roxane (Michael Shaw) Ford of Hubbard Lake, Angela (Nicholas) Belanger of Alpena, and Tammy (Nathan) Thomson of Alpena, nine grandchildren, Andrew (Jessica) Harmon, Alanie (Kaleb) Sager, Brandan Puckett, Adam and Noah Belanger, Camren DeCaire, Camela and Audrena Thomson, and Chloe Harmon, three great-grandchildren, Aurora and Adaline Sager, and Kira Harmon, siblings, Margie Crowl, Marlene (Dave) Ellsworth, Kathryn Gnadinger, Roy (Christine) Burnham, Carrie Burnham, and Grace (Chuck) Gohl, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwin and Evelyn Burnham, three sisters, Marion (Bob) Prevost, Gertrude (Leonard) Buchler, and Betty Kollien, and three brothers, William (Sharron) Burnham, Bobby Burnham, and Aurthur Burnham.

A graveside service and interment will take place at Hubbard Lake Cemetery in the spring. McWilliams Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be registered at mcwilliamsfh.com
