AUDREY LOUVERNE HATFIELD

Audrey Louverne Hatfield, 89, of Hubbard Lake passed away peacefully at her home after a long battle with illness. She was a caring, giving, and compassionate woman that will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Audrey was born on Dec. 9, 1930 to the late Harrison and Rebecca (Carmon) Houston in Reliance, Tennessee. As a young woman she developed a passion for taking care of others which led her to pursue her nursing license. Audrey worked for over 30 years in the health care industry including several years in home health. On Feb. 2, 1946 Audrey joined hands in marriage with the love of her life, Ernest Hatfield in Middlesboro, Kentucky. They were married for 71 years until his passing in 2018.

She enjoyed everything there was to do with being an artist and painting. Audrey was often inspired to create a masterpiece and put it to canvas. However, when it came to being an inspiration herself, she was a natural. Her unselfish nature and care for others led her to be a very uplifting person. Whenever someone was feeling down or defeated, no matter what the situation was, Audrey was there to offer words of encouragement and positivity. Judgement was never passed, and she always went out of her way to help someone else. She was a devoted woman of faith and was involved in a church throughout most of her life. Recently, she was a member of Huron Shores Christian Fellowship where she attended regularly and helped wherever she could.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Linda) of Hubbard Lake, Michigan, Jerry (Cathy) of Westland, Michigan, David (Kathy) and Dennis both of Hubbard Lake, Michigan, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ernest and a daughter, Janice.
