ADA JOY HOPP
HOPP, ADA JOY, age 87 of Alpena passed away Nov. 4, 2020 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Ada was born June 20, 1933 in Deerfield, Michigan to the late Adolph and the late Julia (nee Stearns) Opel. On Nov. 6, 1954 she married Delmar Hopp. Family was very important to Ada. She will forever be remembered for her kind heart and caring nature. Aad retired as an R.N. from Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn in 1995. She served on the Evangelism Board at Immanuel Lutheran Church, she volunteered at the Alpena Hospital Gift Shop, was active with the Golden Agers and the German Club. Ada and Delmar enjoyed their retirement home on Long Lake in Alpena. Ada also enjoyed bowling, dances, card playing, traveling, crocheting, knitting, playing dominoes, doing puzzles, sisters week and Thanksgiving on the Farm. Steadfast in her Faith, Ada attended Church her whole life. Beloved wife of the late Delmar. Loving mother of Sharon (Jim) Falzon, Douglas (Janet) Hopp, Gregory Hopp, Jennifer Hopp and the late Brenda Stephenson. Proud grandmother of Nicholas (Ahna) Falzon & Jaclyn Falzon. Great-grandmother of Adelaide Louise and Dominic Van. Dearest sister of Janice (the late Richard) Amsler, Jane (David) Foy, John (Sue) Opel, Mary (the late John) Nolan and the late Ruth (the late Bill) McMahon. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
