Lavon Dell James, 69, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019 at her little piece of heaven in Port Richey, Fla., surrounded by family and her love, Don Spindler.

Lavon was born Oct. 12, 1949 to the late Chet and Vergie James. She worked as a business owner/bookkeeper for many years. She later found her love for farming as she worked beside Don at his dairy farm in Hillman.

Lavon is survived by her daughter, Michelle of Hillman, son, Adrian (Kimberly) Crawford of Chillicothe, Ohio; grandchildren Darian, Hanna, and Emmie, brother, Chet “Butch” James III, sisters, Bernie (Todd) Pitt, Joanne (Wayne) Schalk; her nieces and nephews, Alaine (Jim) MacQueen, Mike (Chrystal) Klein, Bethany James, Eric Crawford and Chaley (Ryan) Reedy.

Lavon will be joining her parents, brother Jibbo, and grandson Chase, along with her beloved hound dog, Fudgie.

Lavon was a 1969 graduate of Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint, Mich. She was involved in many sports and activities while away at school.

Lavon was full of life and always had a smile on her face. She always encouraged friends and family to learn sign language. With her glowing smile and her sign “I love you” she will forever hold a place in all of the hearts she touched.

The family of Lavon would like to invite all to join us at her “Celebration of Life” at the Hillman VFW, Sunday, April 28 at 2 pm.
