Lorraine C. Bennett, 89, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Feb. 6, 2019. She spent her last days with her daughter by her side. Lorraine was born on June 10, 1929 to two creatives Evelyn and Charles Lenz in Alpena, Mich.. They were a family of artists and musicians. Music was part of Lorraine’s soul. She incorporated music into all aspects of her life. In 1953 she married Earl Graham. They spent their life together raising their daughter Julie Graham-Behning, showing horses and entertaining. Earl died in 1986 and in 1991 Lorraine married Thomas Bennett.

Lorraine pursued a career in elementary education and when she left education, she spent her time traveling and taking photographs with her husband Thomas. Lorraine tackled everything in her life with artistic flare. She loved beautiful things, all colors, and good soup. Lorraine had great admiration for nature she loved looking at flowers while sipping a cup of green tea. Her favorite flower was the geranium. She enjoyed planting them all around her home.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Thomas Bennett, her daughter Julie Graham-Behning, stepson Robert Bennett, stepdaughter Cathy Vlcek, her sister Michele Lenz- Sohl and her grandchildren Stephanie, Brandon, and Shane Behning, Jenelle Edwards and Nathan Vlcek. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren.
