BLONDYNE JULIA KLIMEK

Blondyne Julia Klimek age 94 of Rogers City, formerly of Alpena, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Rogers City Tendercare.

Blondyne was born March 21, 1921, in Alpena to James and Florence (Maciezewski) Szejbach.

On June 3, 1946, she married William Klimek in Alpena. Prior to moving to Rogers City in 2008, she was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. She was a current member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Rogers City and the St. Anne’s Ladies Sodality. In her younger days she enjoyed bingo, golf, cross country skiing, crocheting and time spent at the cottage at Long Lake with her children and grandchildren.

Blondyne is survived by her husband of 69 years, William; two daughters, Mary Sue (Richard) Wozniak of Rogers City and Rosalie Klimek of Dearborn; two granddaughters, Melissa (Mark) Azeez of Livonia and Amy (Scott) Stone of Ludington; four great-grandchildren, Holly and Ethan Azeez and Randi and Rylee Stone; two sisters, Phyllis Koppal of Shelby Township and Barbara (Richard) Dowling of Marquette; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Szejbach and Janie Szejbach, both of Alpena; brother-in-law, Edward Partyka of Rogers City; and several nieces and nephews.

Blondyne was preceded in death by her son Paul in 2001; two sisters, Violette Lewandowski and Doris Partyka; three brothers, Harold, David and Stanley Szejbach.

Family and friends may gather at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. with Rev. Sylvestre Obwaka officiating.

Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Alpena.

Memorials may be given to St. Ignatius Catholic School or Hospice of the Sunrise Shore.
