WALLACE MAX ROESKE

Wallace Max Roeske, age 87 of Rogers City, passed away July 18, 2014 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 26, 1927 in Moltke Township to Max and Eveline (Tulgetske) Roeske.

Wally graduated from Rogers City High School in 1945. He served in the United States Army during World War II. On June 18, 1949, he married Laura Rose Brege at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He graduated from Eastern Michigan College in 1951, and then went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Chemistry from The University of Michigan in 1959. Wally attended Kent State University where he studied German. Mr. Roeske taught school in Rogers City for 26 years. He will be remembered as a teacher, farmer, and house painter.

Mr. Roeske is survived by five children, Pauline (David) Walker of Oxford, Victor (Patricia) Roeske of North Branch, Charlene (Steve) Miller of Concord, Ohio, Laurine (Ted) Domke of Wasilla, Alaska, and Eric Roeske of Patchogue, New York; two granddaughters, Alison Roeske of Monrovia, Calif., and Rachel Roeske of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; one brother, Raymond (Betty) Roeske of Moltke and one sister, Elda Thomas of Clearwater, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura on Nov. 30, 2013

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moltke from 10 a.m. through time of funeral at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jack D. Ferguson officiating.

Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Hospice of Michigan.
