State police announce Alpena Polar Plunge results

ALPENA — The Michigan State Police- Alpena Post said the Polar Plunge in Alpena raised a lot of money and was well attended.
In a press release, MSP says this year’s Alpena Special Olympics Michigan Law Enforcement Polar Plunge was a huge success and there were 60 participants registered to take the plunge. The press release says the event raised $33,700 for Special Olympics Michigan.
The Michigan State Police Alpena Post and Special Olympics Michigan would like to give a big thank you to all the participants and sponsors that raised this money to allow the Special Olympics athletes to participate in future sporting events. We appreciate the support from the volunteers and the community who make this event possible, the press release says.
