The Alpena County Board of Commissioners will hold its annual organizational meeting today at 1 p.m. and that meeting will be followed by a special commissioners meeting beginning at 1:30 p.m. During the special meeting, the commissioners will receive an update on the recently opened homeless shelter at the Alpena County Fairgrounds.

These meetings are open to the public and public comment is welcome.
