Inmates housed in Alpena Jail – 11

April 28

10:14 a.m. A male subject was taken into custody at the courthouse for probation violation and transported to Alpena County Jail.

11:31 a.m. A report of a lot of smoke just south of Hillman was made. Hillman Fire Department responded to the location, it was a farmer burning brush pile. All units cleared without incident.

2:19 p.m. A grass fire that was started by an arcing power line was reported in Hillman Township. The Hillman Fire Department responded to the scene and put the fire out. PIEG responded to the scene to fix the broken power pole.

3:26 p.m. A deer vehicle crash was reported in Briley Township; a deputy responded to take the report and dispatch the deer.

4:27 p.m. A deer vehicle crash was reported in Hillman Township; a deputy responded to take the report and dispatch the deer.

8:25 p.m. A firefighter in Hillman came across a tree on a powerline that was actively smoking. PIE&G was contacted and responded to the scene.

April 30

5:19 a.m. A loose dog was reported in Vienna Township.

6:32 p.m. A small brush fire was reported in Vienna Township; one of the Vienna Township Fire department members responded and found it to be a small fire and advised the home owners to have the fire extinguished.

May 1

7:43 a.m. A MCSO Deputy responded to a residential alarm in Albert Township; the deputy searched the property and found the residence secure.

9:57 p.m. Tri-Township Fire Department responded to a wood stove fire in Albert Township; once on scene the firefighters reported that the fire had spread to a wood shed. They were able to extinguish the fire without any harm to any main building or garage.

May 2

11:38 a.m. A family member requested a welfare check on residents of Loud Township; A deputy responded to the residence, the subjects were fine and said they would contact their family member.

12:51 p.m. A welfare check was requested on a resident of Briley Township, contact was made with the subject, he was found to be fine.

2:11 p.m. A resident of Avery Township reported that a family member stole money and other items from her. Investigation is ongoing at this time.

6:16 p.m. A resident in Montmorency Township reported missing medication.

7:59 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence in Avery Township, inquiring about a report of building materials being burned. The homeowner was cited for illegally burning the materials. Deputies then responded to the residence for a neighbor dispute. All parties involved were instructed to stay away from each other.

May 3

8:22 a.m. A deputy responded to Hillman Township to pick up two stray dogs, the dogs were taken to ECAS.

1:03 p.m. A report of two suspicious cars parked on a roadway in Vienna Township was made. A deputy responded to the area the vehicles were gone upon his arrival.

6:04 p.m. Dispatch received a complaint of a truck speeding down the roadways in Albert Township.

8:18 p.m. A resident in Vienna Township reported two suspicious vehicles parked on the side of the road for hours. The complainant gave the vehicle descriptions, stating a female was driving the first one. Before a deputy could respond, the vehicles left.

9:34 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence in Hillman Village for a dispute. A male at the residence became unruly after becoming intoxicated. The homeowner wanted him removed. Prior to law enforcement arrival, the male had already left the residence to a friend’s house. The deputies attempted to make contact with him but were not getting any cooperation.

May 4

4:44 a.m. Tri Township Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in Briley Township. Mutual aid was quickly requested. Tri Township EMS, Albert Township Fire Dept, Vienna Fire Dept, and Hillman Fire Dept all responded to assist at the scene.

1:16 p.m. A report of a brush fire that got out of control and was into the woods was reported in Hillman Township. Hillman Fire, Atlanta DNR, and Tri Township Fire Departments all responded to the scene. The subject was cited for burning on a no burn day and all units were clear of the scene at 4:05 p.m.

2:23 p.m. A resident of Albert Township called to report a grass fire that was out of control. Albert Township Fire Department responded to the scene. The homeowner was issued a citation for burning without a permit.

4:02 p.m. A report of a resident of the Village of Hillman burning on a no burn day was made. Hillman Fire Department went to the residence and put the fire out.

7:20 p.m. Deputies conducted a civil standby for a resident in Hillman Township. The resident was able to grab the needed belongings and everybody cleared.
