The Uncrewed Triple Challenge, a groundbreaking, state-sponsored competition of autonomous drones across water, air, and land, announced in a Thursday press release the 2025 competition winner.
The following competition participants received awards:
Best in Maritime: Mythos AI ($15K)
Best in Air: Sifly ($15K)
Best on Land: Dataspeed ($15K)
Best at Payload Transfer: Sifly to Mythos AI to Dataspeed ($5K)
Best Overall Team: Sifly, Mythos AI, Dataspeed ($30K)
The Uncrewed Triple Challenge was announced by Governor Whitmer in April 2024 as a key initiative to reinforce Michigan’s national leadership in advanced mobility. The competition is a result of collaboration between the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Michigan National Guard, Michigan Department of Transportation, and Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
People gathered in Alpena on Tuesday morning to watch as the event began with the maritime course, where drones traveled five nautical miles across Thunder Bay and back to the transfer zone to begin the air portion. The air segment was about 58.5 miles out to Grayling. For the final portion of the competition, land drones had to navigate a 23.5-mile land segment, ending at Camp Grayling.
