DHD4 announces new environmental health online portal
In a Wednesday press release, the District Health Department No. 4 (DHD4) announced the launch of their online portal for community members to view information about recent inspections for restaurants, campgrounds, and public pools in Alpena, Cheboygan, Montmorency, and Presque Isle Counties. DHD4 sanitarians in the Environmental Health division diligently inspect these facilities to ensure they are safe for use.
According to the press release, residents can use this portal to view inspection results, which are public records, and make more informed decisions for their family. To access the portal, visit dhd4-portal-prod.hedgerowsoftware.com.
On the site, there are buttons to view restaurant, campground, and pool inspection results. DHD4 states that inspection results on the site show observations made while on site, at the time of inspection. They do not necessarily reflect the current status of the facility.
For more information on a specific facility, individuals may submit a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) to the DHD4, according to the press release. An electronic request form can be found at dhd4.org/forms. Completed request forms should be returned to county DHD4 offices.
