Alpena Community College softball and baseball stars shine in post-season honors

ALPENA — The Alpena Community College softball and baseball teams capped off strong seasons with a flurry of post-season accolades, as several players were recognized for their outstanding individual performances in conference and regional play.
Softball Award Winners
Freshman standout Kirsten Neubecker emerged as one of the most decorated players in the state, earning All-MCCAA, All-Region, All-Freshman, and First Team All-Northern Conference honors. Her stellar play on both sides of the ball set the tone for the Lady Lumberjacks all season long.
Joining her in multiple categories was Emilee Modrzejewski, who also claimed All-MCCAA, All-Freshman, and First Team All-Northern Conference honors, showcasing the impact of ACC’s freshman class.
Veteran leader Kenna Tippman was also named First Team All-Northern Conference, while Alaina Neubecker earned a spot on the Second Team All-Northern Conference.

Rounding out the list, Jordan Ashley, Faith Cousins, Taylor Krentz, Dakota Rachow, and Magdalyn Sandoval all received Northern Conference Honorable Mention, contributing to a balanced and competitive roster throughout the spring.
Baseball Award Winners
On the baseball team, Jake Zann made history with a clean sweep of major awards, being named the Northern Conference Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, All-MCCAA, All-Region, All-Freshman, and First Team All-Northern Conference. Zann was a dominant force at the plate and in the field, earning the respect of coaches and opponents alike.
Max Coughlin added to the Lumberjacks’ postseason hardware by securing spots on the All-MCCAA, All-Region, and First Team All-Northern Conference lists.
Grant Slater earned Second Team All-Northern Conference honors, while Jacob Brohl, Evan Fairbanks, Nate Koster, and Max McCarty received Northern Conference Honorable Mention for their consistent play and contributions throughout the season.

With a promising mix of talent and leadership returning, both the ACC softball and baseball programs look poised to build on this year’s success and make even more noise in the seasons ahead.
