News Photo by Torianna Marasco The Salvation Army works with staff from The News who helped move pews and organize donations at the Salvation Army Church on Wednesday for 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Sept. 11 was officially designated as the National Day of Service and Remembrance under the 2009 Serve America Act. Organizations around the country participated by hosting volunteer projects, including the Boys and Girls Club in Alpena which received a grant from the Michigan Community Service Commission for doing so.
