Hubbard Lake man arrested for theft
A 45-year-old Hubbard Lake man was arrested and charged with one count of larceny in a building and a count of larceny between $200 and $1,000 for a theft in Caledonia Township.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post were dispatched to a cottage in Caledonia Township in early July and the owner of a cottage informed troopers he had items stolen from his cottage during recent renovations done by a contractor. The contractor was notified of the theft and informed the victim he would find out if one of his employees was responsible. The contractor later reported the man responsible for the theft to police. The man was arrested on Sept. 9 during a traffic stop and transported to the Alcona County Jail. He was arraigned in the 81st District Court in Alcona County.
