Alpena has contracted with Veolia to begin the excavation of various customer service lines as part of the Distribution Materials Inventory pertaining to lead water lines.

On May 20, Veolia’s subcontractor is set to begin the process of identifying approximately 357 randomly selected locations.

Any locations found to be lead or have lead-containing materials will be documented and the property owners will be notified.

There is no cost to the homeowner for this inventory or the subsequent replacement if required. Homeowners may have seen flags appearing in their front yards as a result of this project, meaning that your address was randomly selected for the inventory.
