HERRON — Multiple first-responder units came together on Monday to stop a house fire on Wolf Creek Road and to aid residents potentially harmed during the incident.

According to a firefighter on the scene, most of the fire was within a wooden shack behind the house, resulting in mostly water and smoke damage in the interior of the house.

Injuries could not be confirmed, however, residents of the estate went to MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena for further evaluation.

The source of the fire is currently under investigation.

MyMichigan Ambulance, City of Alpena EMS, Sanborn Township Fire Department, Wilson Township Fire Department, Hubbard Lake Fire Department, and Michigan State Police arrived at the scene for assistance.
