Feb. 12

2:55 a.m.: A female resident in Briley contacted the department about items that were stolen from her–an officer took the report. An investigation is ongoing.DNR FIRE: 0

Feb. 13

4:24 p.m.: An Atlanta business reported a drug like substance found on their counter, officers took possession of the substance.

Feb. 14

10:34 a.m.: A male subject contacted the dispatch center via 911 referencing a male subject that he came upon that had injuries and would not answer the subject’s questions. Albert Township EMS along with MCSO deputies responded to the scene. The subject was transported to the hospital by EMS, investigation is ongoing at this time.

1:10 p.m.: A resident of Briley Township was cutting down a tree and the tree fell on a power line. Tri Township Fire responded as a precaution, and PIE&G responded to fix the downed wire.

5:10 p.m.: A financial institution in Albert Township called to report someone had hit their building, a MSP Trooper was in the area and responded to the scene to take the report.

6:55 p.m.: A vehicle deer accident was reported to the department in Hillman Township; an officer took the report.

Feb. 15

8:56 a.m.: A driver called to report that he had gone into the ditch in Montmorency Township; the driver drove out of the ditch but there was damage to his vehicle. A deputy responded to the scene to take the report.

11:24 a.m.: Hillman EMS was requested mutual aid into Alpena County for a two-vehicle crash, no one was transported to the hospital and EMS cleared without incident.

3:08 p.m.: A female came into MCSO lobby to turn herself in a civil bench warrant, she was booked and she bonded out.

3:17 p.m.: A report of a homeowner while plowing his driveway hit a gas line; Hillman Fire Department along with PIE&G responded to the scene.

9:02 p.m.: While on routine patrol a deputy initiated a traffic stop in Briley Township after witnessing a two-vehicle accident; Officer collected information and a tow truck was dispatched. No one was injured.

Feb. 16

12:44 p.m.: Two vehicle accident in Atlanta, both vehicles were towed from the scene no injuries were reported.

3:00 p.m.: Two vehicle accident in Hillman, MDOT advised traffic to be diverted. Both vehicles were towed and 1 person injured.

6:48 p.m.: Multiple neighbors complained about animals in Briley TWP being neglected, investigation is ongoing.

Feb. 17

2:46 a.m.: Traffic stop in Hillman resulted in a male subject to be arrested on active warrants in other jurisdictions.

8:49 p.m.: Single vehicle accident on Meridian Line, no damage or injuries reported.

Feb. 18

7:37 a.m.: Deer/ vehicle accident on Carter Rd, no injuries were reported.

2:31 p.m.: Deer/ vehicle accident on M-32, no injuries were reported.

6:04 p.m.: Two snowmobiles went through the ice on West Twin Lake, both parties were able to get out of the water and make it back to land without further incident.
