ALPENA — After three straight defeats, the Alpena High football team hopes to reverse its fortunates this week on the road.

The Wildcats (1-3, 0-2 Big North Conference) will travel to Petoskey (2-2. 1-1 BNC) for its second road contest of the year. The Northmen have won the three meetings between the two schools, including a 24-20 win last season.

Alpena held an early lead last season and got a three-touchdown performance from Kaleb Donajkowski. But the Northmen took the lead late in the third quarter and never looked back. A last-second rally by the Wildcats fell just short with a touchdown caught in the end zone that was ruled out of bounds.

Petoskey opened the season with a 32-14 win over Ludington and won in week three against Escanaba 50-0 in its conference opener. The Northmen are coming off a 9-0 loss to Gaylord last week.
