Nautical City Festival starts today in Rogers City

ALPENA — The Rogers City Nautical City festival returns this summer for live music, parades, art shows and carnival festivities.
The festivities began Friday with the Miss Nautical Coast Scholarship Pageant. The crowned Miss Nautical Coast of 2023 is Callie Rhode, and the Miss Nautical Coast Teen of 2023 was awarded to Peyton Gohl.
The festival is free for all guests, besides some of the activities, and takes place today through Aug. 6.
Some highlights of this year’s festival include:

∫ Sailor’s Memorial, 6 p.m. at the Lakeside Band Shell
∫ Rogers City City Band Concert, following the memorial at the Lakeside Band Shell
∫ Texas Hold-em Tournament at the Big Tent

∫ Kiddie Parade, 6 p.m., starts at Westminster Church
∫ Trivia Contest at the Big Tent

Advance purchases recommended at the museum’s gift shop, children under 14 are $5, Adults are $10 – no telephone reservations allowed.
