Motorcycle-truck crash sends one to hospital

ALPENA TOWNSHIP — A motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital on Thursday evening after his vehicle was struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of Werth Road and Spruce Road in Alpena Township.

A police officer at the scene did not know the extent of the man’s injuries but said he was conscious when transported.

Police said the driver of a white pickup truck was attempting to turn into Mid-Point Convenience Store at the intersection and collided with the motorcycle, which was headed south on Spruce Road.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
